IFFCO Canada Enterprise Ltd (the developer) plans to operate a nitrogen fertilizer production plant to meet the needs of Québec farmers, as well as market demands elsewhere in Canada and abroad.
IFFCO Canada is a Canadian company set up July 2012 on the initiative of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO*), one of the largest agricultural cooperatives in the world. The company was founded in anticipation of the construction of a fertilizer plant at Bécancour Port and Industrial Park.
Headquartered in Montréal, IFFCO Canada opened a regional office in Bécancour in March 2013 to oversee the setup of the new production facility.
IFFCO Canada comprises four partners whose expertise and financial support are essential to bringing the project to completion.
*IFFCO is represented by Kisan International Trading FZE (KIT),

The mission of this public corporation is to contribute to economic development in Québec, by generating investment and nurturing employment in regions across the province. Investissement Québec became a partner in December 2012 with a view to providing support and helping to make the project a reality.
